My work reflI believe my work benefits from not being confined within a short paragraph, or an endless collection of words. To do so emphasizes the idea of talking and writing about my paintings more than physically working on them. Even so, it is nearly impossible to describe the amount of doubt, the constant struggle, the overall consideration that I give to each of my paintings with just a few sentences of seemingly final declarations. It is also difficult to currently describe my work in terms of what kind of art it is, what kind of language it wishes to convey. Describing my work as mainly figurative or labeling it as some type of art, is an easy way out and not only cripples the work itself, but destroys what my work possible could be and what it is, now. I am now at a point in my painting where the only thing that remains in focus is the uncertainty of my idea of painting. Though extremely difficult, annoying and frustrating, the uncertainty is essential. I wish to create with paint, to be an artist that uses paint. Constantly discovering my relationship with paint. To have the discipline to just shut up and paint the pictures!
